Do you ever suspect that everyone else has life figured out and you don’t have a clue? If so, Rachel Hollis has something to tell you: that’s a lie.

As the founder of the lifestyle website and CEO of her own media company, Rachel Hollis developed an immense online community by sharing tips for better living while fearlessly revealing the messiness of her own life. Now, in this challenging and inspiring new book, Rachel exposes the twenty lies and misconceptions that too often hold us back from living joyfully and productively, lies we’ve told ourselves so often we don’t even hear them anymore.

With painful honesty and fearless humor, Rachel unpacks and examines the falsehoods that once left her feeling overwhelmed and unworthy, and reveals the specific practical strategies that helped her move past them. In the process, she encourages, entertains, and even kicks a little butt, all to convince you to do whatever it takes to get real and become the joyous, confident woman you were meant to be.

With unflinching faith and rock-hard tenacity, Girl, Wash Your Face shows you how to live with passion and hustle--and how to give yourself grace without giving up.

It is hard to put into word how much I adore this book and how much it changed my life. This is truly the first book I have read where repeatedly I was saying to myself, “This is my life.” It is relatable without being preachy, it is heartfelt and sincere, it is funny and witty; what more could you want? I recommend this book to anyone who asks and even to those who don’t. It is a must ready for any mama that is needing to feel not so lost in their day to day and for any woman who just needs a little kick in the butt to pursue their dreams.

I absolutely love this book and have already recommend it to practically everyone I know!!! I do have a quick question though!!! I’m a Beachbody coach and where I can recommend this book to my female clients do you have or know any personal development books for men that I could recommend to my male clients? Has your husband wrote anything?

  • Girl, this one was tough to get through

I heard great things about this book and was looking forward to reading it. I found most of Rachel’s advice to be general common sense... yes, idealistically don’t we all know we should follow our dreams and take care of ourselves first and eat less, be more active, etc. etc.? I also think her storytelling came through with bragging undertones. Yes Rachel, we get it that you are a runner and run a super successful media company. It definitely reads that her way is the only way to go through life. I also didn’t realize this had Christian undertones, which is a general turn off for me as a non-religious person. Some of her stories were cute, but I can honestly say I didn’t laugh or smile or feel inspired once while reading this book. As I told a coworker, I think it would be a better read if you were in your 20s, still trying to navigate life or going through trials and tribulations. For the average woman living a happy life, this book isn’t going to light a fire in you.

I don’t normally do reviews on books, however this book deserves one. This book spoke to so many different areas of my life and has helped me work through insecurities and difficulties I didn’t even realize I had, or was going through. Thank you for writing this book, and being honest in telling your story, and for lighting a fire in me!
